Il futuro di uno degli edifici più noti della città, palazzo Gherardi, è stato prospettato nella seduta del consiglio comunale che si è tenuta lo scorso 28 marzo. A sollevare il tema ci ha pensato Davide Da Ros: il consigliere di Fratelli d’Italia ha presentato un’interrogazione chiedendo termini e tempistica di questo intervento di riqualificazione di cui si parla da tempo.
Il punto è stato fatto dal sindaco Massimo Olivetti, intervenuto per fare chiarezza sul presente ma soprattutto sul futuro del bene di proprietà comunale solo per il 66% dei locali. L’immobile, che si affaccia a sud su piazza Simoncelli (di cui “causò” la demolizione del ghetto ebraico per fare posto al lussuoso albergo Roma), a ovest su corso II Giugno e a nord sul fiume Misa, è infatti in comproprietà con soggetti privati che hanno nelle attività economiche al piano terra. Un palazzo storico, lascito del conte Adolfo Gherardi-Benigni di Montenovo a Senigallia perché ne facesse la sede di un polo culturale per i giovani della città che non potevano permettersi gli studi e quindi un’istruzione.
