L’annuncio del Pontefice giunge al termine dell’Angelus di domenica, 21 gennaio, quinta Domenica della Parola di Dio. Dopo la catechesi, il Papa ricorda infatti ai 20 mila fedeli presenti in Piazza San Pietro che “i prossimi mesi ci condurranno all’apertura della Porta Santa con cui daremo inizio al Giubileo: “Vi chiedo di intensificare la preghiera per vivere questo tempo di grazia e sperimentarvi la forza della speranza di Dio“.
Per farlo Papa Francesco dà, appunto, il via a questo anno speciale – che segue quello dedicato alla riflessione sui documenti e allo studio dei frutti del Concilio Vaticano II – durante il quale nelle diocesi del mondo ci si impegnerà per riscoprire la centralità della preghiera. “Saremo aiutati anche dai sussidi che il Dicastero per l’Evangelizzazione metterà a disposizione”, dice il Papa.
In preparazione all’Anno Santo del 2025, le Diocesi sono invitate a promuovere momenti di orazione individuale e comunitaria. La proposta è di “pellegrinaggi di preghiera” verso il Giubileo oppure percorsi di scuola di preghiera con tappe mensili o settimanali, presiedute dai vescovi, in cui coinvolgere tutto il Popolo di Dio.
