Marotta è da ormai qualche mese al centro di un intervento di potenziamento delle scogliere per proteggere la costa dal fenomeno erosivo, come sta avvenendo a Marina di Montemarciano. Dopo una prima fase a fine 2023 per un importo modesto di meno di 400 mila euro, nei primi mesi dell’anno è cominciato un secondo stralcio di lavori, più consistente, che permetterà di mettere in sicurezza il lungomare.
La parte centrale è stata l’oggetto di primo rafforzamento delle scogliere emerse, dall’area di Ponte Sasso, all’incirca da via Marecchia verso sud fino al molo di Marotta. Due i mezzi in azione per “ricucire” la difesa del litorale marottese in cui erano comparsi negli anni dei veri e propri buchi.
Il ripristino permetterà di difendersi al meglio dalle prossime mareggiate che, si è visto benissimo, sono capaci di fare parecchi danni. Nella seconda fase ci si concentrerà sulla parte a sud del molo di Marotta, i cui transetti meritano altrettanta attenzione: per questi serviranno altri viaggi dei pontoni che porteranno migliaia di tonnellate di scogli e materiali per il riaffioramento delle difese marine.
