“Carissimi, sono consapevole che uno scritto non può sostituire un incontro dove ci si vede, ci si ascolta, ci si stringe una mano. Coltivo però la speranza che le parole affidate a uno scritto, riescano a esprimere quanto desidero comunicarvi in questo momento della vita delle nostre famiglie, delle nostre comunità e della nostra Chiesa diocesana. Sono le parole rivolte da Dio al popolo d’Israele tramite il profeta Isaia, che hanno ispirato le mie considerazioni che affido al vostra ascolto”.
E’ uno scritto che sa di tenerezza, quello del vescovo Franco. Abbiamo bisogno di consolazione, carezze, incoraggiamenti. Non di sentimentalismi a buon mercato, o di effetti speciali che durano lo spazio della novità. La consolazione è magnifica attitudine divina, scende nell’intimo e dona pace. Ci abilita ad essere consolati e a consolare. Perché Dio è fatto così ed il Natale alle porte sta a dirci che siamo fatti della stessa pasta.
